Will
of Richard CULPIN, Woodnewton, Northamptonshire died 1728
In the name of God Amen. I Richard
Culpin of Wood Newton in the County of Northamptonshire, Taylor,
being sick but of perfect memory and remembrance, praise be god,
do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manor and
form following. First I bequeath my soul unto the hands of the Almighty
God hoping through the meritorious Death and Passion of Jesus Christ
my Saviour and
Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and
as for my body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion
of my executrix hear after nominated. Item. I give unto my
son Charles the sum of five pounds. Item. I give unto my
son John five pounds. Item. I give unto my Grandson Edward
Seaton five pounds and my son Richard Trustee for the same and to
keep it in his hand at five shillings yearly interest until he comes
of fourteen years of age. Item. I give unto my Daughter Ann
Seaton one shilling. Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth five
pounds a bed and beding, five pewter dishes three plates two kettles
the best one and the worse one. Item. I give unto my daughter
Eleanor five pounds five pewter dishes three plates two kettles
and a bed and bedding. Item. All the rest of my lands houses
leases Tenements and goods whatsoever I give unto my son Richard
Culpin upon condition that he shall pay all my debts and….and
make him sole executrix of this my last will and testament revoking
all other wills and testaments.
